Screen Play: Looking for Alaska

Part 1: The part we are writing our screen play on is from pages 114- 119. This is the part where Miles, Alaska, The Colonel, Lara and Takumi play the Best/Worst Day Ever game. With this game, Alaska reveals why she is so troubled on the inside and mentally frustrated towards her actions prior to her mothers death. When all her friends believed they truly knew Alaska from the inside out, she tells her story and reveals the deep agony within herself.

FADE IN: The gang leaves for the holidays.

The Colonel: Haha the Eagle will never suspect this. Takumi: Damn youre so evil. The Colonel: I know right? Alaska: I told the Eagle I was going to Jakes Miles: I told the Eagle I was going to parents for the holidays Takumi: I told the Eagle I was going to a relatives house down in Alabama. Lara: Haha I told the Eagle I was going to a Romanian get together with my parents. Alaska: Funny thing is we are all chilling here, and pranking that son of a bitch.

The Group Laughs and They all leave to meet up at the barn.
Alaska: Haha Im surprised you all made it and didnt get lost! Miles: Haha real funny. (Sarcastically)

Takumi: Lets settle down and go through our scheme one last time.

A few minutes later.

The Colonel: Well, I am pretty confident that yall know youre parts in our plan. Miles: If anyone here does not know what they are doing, speak up! Lara: Can you run through my part quick? The Colonel: Holy fuck, you are supposed to put the stink bomb in the Eagles room after Takumi and Miles drag him out of his room with the firecrackers. Lara: Thank you very much.

A few hours later.

Takumi: Its time! The Colonel: everyone ready? Alaska: Lets hit it!

Miles and Takumi on their way to The Eagles residence.

Miles: I cant believe Im about to do this. Takumi: Fuck it bro, you left your pussy life back in Florida, youre one of us now. Miles: Yeah I know, but like a few months ago in Florida I was a goody two shoes and now look what Im doing. Takumi: Dont worry about it, I feel you. Miles: Were here.

At the Eagles residence.

Takumi: Ready? Miles: I guess so. Takumi: Lets go.

Explanation for whats about to happen: Miles and Takumi and attempting to get the Eagle
out of his room by planting a firecracker outside his door. As the Eagle leaves his room, Lara will sneak in and plant the stink bombs all over his room and runs back to the barn on a separate route from Miles and Takumi. As this all goes down, Alaska and the Colonel hack the Eagles computer and sends letters to the weekend warriors parents to indicate they are failing classes, which they are actually not.

At the barn.
Lara: That went great! Alaska: Yeah I know right? We got that bastard so bad, hell never forget this day. Takumi: A triple whammy! Miles: The adrenaline is still pumping inside me! Thats probably the craziest thing Ive ever done! Takumi: Thats because youre a goody two shoes. Miles: At least Im not the one who shit their pants while running here!

Everyone besides Takumi and Miles start yelling with Laughter.

The Colonel: Matter of fact, I do smell something!

Takumis face goes red.

Lara: Leave him alone! Lets play a game!

Miles: Like what type of game? Alaska: I know one. Why dont we play the best/worst day ever game? The Colonel: Dont you have the wine in the back? Takumi: Yea! Lets get hammered. Lara: Whats this game about? Like, how do you play? The Colonel: Its pretty easy; all you do is tell your best day and worst day. Lara: Oh (While feeling stupid)

Everyones story during the game: Everyone goes through their stories and lastly it comes to
Alaskas turn and she is a bit hesitant to say what happened for each of the days. She finally reveals what went down during her worst day and everyone is shocked to hear what happened. Alaska explains that for her worst day, she was six when she found her mom collapsed on the living room floor. She panicked and did nothing to try and save her mothers life because she was traumatized and froze up. Her father came home a few hours later and saw his daughter lying down beside the body of his now deceased wife. He asked Alaska why she hadnt done anything like call 911 or try CPR but at that moment Alaska could not respond. Ever since that day, her father has blamed her for the death of his wife and that is why she states that is her worst day ever.

Miles thinks back to the first time smoking when Alaska says She smokes to die and it gets him thinking
