Measuring of the amount of Euphorbia sap

B. Materials and Equipments In this study, there are materials that are needed to complete the experiment. These materials are: Euphorbia milii Wheat Flour Vinegar Sugar Measuring cups Distilled Water Knife Bottle/Saucepan Air-tight container

C. Study Site The researchers conducted the study at Alabel National Science High School and at Mataganas residence.

D. Extraction of Euphorbia Sap 250g of Pomelo rind was chopped into small pieces and homogenized with the use of blender. The obtained 80ml pure extract were removed with impurities using cheese cloth. Treatment 1 was the commercialized insecticide. To prepare 50 percent concentration (T2), 15ml of pure extract was added with 30ml of distilled water. For the 75 percent concentration (T3), 25ml of pure extract was added 20ml.The remaining amount of pure extract was served as 100 percent concentration (T4). The treatments were placed in the spray bottles. Treatment 1, 2, 3 and 4 were placed in the spray bottles. E. Gathering of Ants

Red fire ants were gathered from our house.

F. Application of the four treatments To facilitate treatment, the researchers put the red fire ants in a bond paper and the insecticide were put in the spray bottles.

T1, T2, T3 and T4 were sprayed in the bond papers. The number of dead red fire ants was determined after 3 to 4 minutes.

G. Observations When everything is done, observations are to be done. Researchers will compare the results of each bond paper with ants and will decide what variable has the effective way of killing ants. In this way, it would be easier for the researchers and the reader to understand well the purpose of the study.
