Vice Chancellor’s Message
Today we are getting more and more dependent on using high
technology product in almost every walk of life. Fast collection of
information, their immediate application in various fields and
then further dissemination of those which are required by the
consumer society at low cost have been responsible for the
explosive growth rate of progress in general. In this whole
exercise of exploiting high technologies, the optimal utilization
of resources involved is the key for success. Even very innovative
idea may not see the light of the day if the whole chain of activities
like proof of concept, development of product, commercial
production, marketing and distribution is not properly organized
in an optimal manner. Any non-optional component in the whole
chain will cause cost over runs and therefore under these
conditions the sustainability become questionable. This is where
the modern management technique comes to our rescue to
provide cost effective solutions through optimization technique.
Optimization technique is a very standard mathematical tool
already well known and in use but the exercise of resource
optimization is a practical problem where one needs to handle a
complex blend of human beings, machines, environmental and
many other components based on the nature of the problem under
Dr. S. Ahmad
consideration. Management experts are continuously evolving
procedures that are addressing to these problems in totality. A number of pleasant changes are seen these
days especially in relation to the human components which are considered more carefully today than in the
older days.
Society as a whole is evolving continuously based on the availability of high tech products process and tools
which are rather progressing faster with time because of more and more exploration of innovative ideas.
Besides material handling and process management exercises, the involvement of human resources is
presently being examined with the specific point of view of synergic effect of involving expertise available
from a variety of sources from different locations. It is true that today the outcome of a number of groups
working together on a problem in networked mode is found to be more than the sum total of the individual
group's contributions put together. Optimization of this human component is very vital for further progress
in the discipline of management science.
We at Jamia Hamdard have addressed to some of the problems of health care system where in spite of
the availability of good doctors and financial support fro the government to create good hospitals, still the
recipient of the medical care are facing hardships to avail the facility. Analysis of the whole problem
indicates towards the lack of management skills in handling the whole situation. Keeping these observation
in view, Jamia Hamdard is very much in this race and launched a programme of MBA in Public Health
Informatics which bring the concept of IT in predicting various requirement well ahead in time so that the
health care agencies are prepared with right kind of support system. We sincerely believe that our health care
related master programme in Jamia Hamdard are getting more and more acceptance in time to come.
Consequently which such skilled manpower trained by us will be available to our society as an asset to
provide health care for all in near future.
