2 New Features and Changed Information

2.1 Updates in the T2000-LCT V200R001C02
Compared with the T2000-LCT V100R008, the T2000-LCT V200R001C02 supports the following equipment and characteristics:

I. Updates in the T2000-LCT Itself

1) Change the Equipment Maintenance Console to the NE Explorer

The NE explorer covers all operations made to an NE and it only displays the function supported by the NE of board. The NE explorer provides the following functions. The functions may vary with different NEs and boards.

With the earlier releases, when you are configuring a single NE, you select a function and then the operation object, such as NE or board. Now, the operation object is selected first and then the required function is selected from the supported functions of the object. 3) Adjust function entry in the main menu

To make the interface more user-friendly, this version adjusts the function allocation in the main menu.

II. Updates in the T2000-LCT for SDH and WDM Equipment Management
Board temperature threshold setting/querying is not supported.

III. Updates in the T2000-LCT for SDH Equipment Management

1) Support new equipment

Function of the OEQ NE

The OEQ NE compensates the power and dispersion in ultra long haul WDM system. During ultra long haul transmission, the power difference among all wavelengths is getting larger and the dispersion compensation to each wavelength is getting more unevenly. For example, the short wavelength is over-compensated while the long wavelength is under-compensated. The OEQ can adjust the power, equalization power and noise of each channel. Moreover, it conducts dispersion compensation to each band to reach dispersion equalization. The OEQ, together with the existing OLA, OADM and OTM, belongs to the optical NE. The OEQ NE equals to an OLA NE that is equipped with the dispersion and power compensation board.

Clock Configuration on SCC

The clock used by the supervising channel may be either the supervising channel clock transmitted over TC1/TC2, or the internal clock source. You can set the priority for these clock sources on SCC, and then the NE will select the available clock of the highest priority and transmit it to the supervising channel of the next station.

3 Caveats
1) 2) 3) It is very necessary to install the anti-virus software and update it in time on the Windows platform. Strongly recommend to install Norton AntiVirus. The T2000-LCT can runs on Windows2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional operating system. The T2000-LCT can manage five NEs at most.
