Wind Energy by Sam and Finn

Explanation
Wind energy is an energy which is
created by wind. Wind energy comes from the sun. It can generate into electricity.

Problem
Will there be more wind energy as you go higher off the ground?

Hypothesis
We predict that the wind will blow stronger downstairs because of the air and the currents.

Materials

The materials are:

- Scissors - 4 small paper cups (similar to drinking cup - A marking pen any color - Ruler - A sharp pencil with an a eraser at the end - Modeling clay - 2 strips of cardboard that are the same len - And a watch that shows seconds

1. First you build a model of a anemometer. 2. Find an open space downstairs. 3. Use the anemometer to measure the

Observation
Our maximum force in the park from the wind was - 3.1m/s Max wind force on the roof top - 3.9m/s and we found out where most of the wind is coming from.

conclusion the wind When you get higher

speed is greater because you are closer to the sun. On higher levels there is less obstruction to the wind. Our hypothesis was wrong.
