Magazine genre: Pop The name Pop music is an abbreviation of Popular music, it is called popular because it involves very mainstream music which is often played throughout the world. Pop music is a simple and modern category of music that anyone is able to enjoy. Pop has been around for many decades and has always been one of the most known and listened to genre throughout all the years. Popular artists such as Take That, Rihanna, Justin Beiber, Taylor Swift, LMFAO, Bruno Mars, Adele Maroon 5 and One Direction all specialise in the Pop genre. Pop music gives off a very positive, colourful image due to its frequently used upbeat rhythm. For example, in the music video for Robbie Williams Candy it shows a vast amount of colours and modern looking scenes and characters with modern style. Mainstream clothes are often associated with pop music and fans of the genre usually like to follow the artist or use them as a role model and adapt to the imagery Pop music gives off.

Robbie Williams Candy This video shows Robbie wearing extremely colourful clothes which follow the smart/casual look which is seen often around nowadays.

LMFAO Party Rock Anthem Another example of pop related imagery, it has a very upbeat rhythm and the video contains some extraordinary modern looking characters dressed in colourful clothes.
