Provide a few sentence preview of the activity.

This is after Civil Rights material has been introduced. Teacher would provide questions to students and have them watch video of Maynards reflection of Civil Rights movement. Students will work in groups to discuss questions and come up with their own skit. Each group will be a different person active in civil rights movement and one student will be the interviewer and one will be person.

Materials Needed

Give a list of all materials needed for the activity included access to internet, charts, graphs, worksheets, etc

Procedures

Provide a more specific description or list of student/teacher procedures

Teacher will need to create a list of dicussion questions appropriate for the ability of their students. Give students the discussion questions and go over them before viewing the video View the video as a class Put students in small groups to discuss the video using the discussion questions

EXTENSION ACTIVITY Have students create a skit that features other Civil Rights activits being interviewd on their experiences. Students may need additional time to research various Civil Rights activities and develp a script. The teacher may want to create a rubric that details what the skit should include.
