Miss Lewiss Class News Week of December 3rd

What Were Learning Reading: We will work on using non-fiction texts to determine the words and meanings of words we dont know. Spelling Words: go, much, through, make, me, reach, health, bread, sleep, great, *motion, *energy *Our Words Their Way focus is on spelling patterns that make short and long e sound again. Writing: We will continue working on informational writing about Tomochichi, James Oglethorpe, and Mary Musgrove. We will also work on capitalization and punctuation. Math: We will begin our unit on geometry. We will focus on recognizing and drawing shapes with a given number of angles or equal faces (ex: triangle, quadrilateral, pentagons, hexagons). Science: We will continue our unit on Energy and Forces.

Classroom News & Reminders * Several students did not complete or incorrectly
completed their reading logs. These were due today, but if it wasnt completed or needs to be re-submitted it is due by Monday!

Common Core Tip of the Week


Have your child use sticky notes while reading to note parts of the story that confuse them, make them excited, are interesting, etc. They can use symbols like exclamation marks and questions marks on the sticky notes to note their thinking.
