Residents of Kensal Green are opposing plans to build a large incinerator near Willesden Junction. The incinerator would have 4 chimneys over 25 meters tall and be just 1.5 miles from homes. The site is deemed inappropriate by the local waste plan and would negatively impact air quality in the dense, residential area. Residents are urged to formally object to Ealing Council's plans before the December 19th decision deadline to stop the incinerator from being approved.

WHY HAVE WE NOT BEEN TOLD ABOUT THIS?
STOP THE HARLESDEN INCINERATOR
THE FACTS The site at Willesden Junction has been officially deemed inappropriate for this usage by the West London Waste Plan. Therefore this toxic plan should not be granted permission to proceed, however Ealing Council are attempting to give it the green light. The European Union Waste Directive classes pyrolysis plants that burn gas as incinerators, but Ealing Council is not telling residents that this proposal is for an incinerator. This site is technically within the borough of Ealing but is actually on the doorstep of Brent. Brent residents are in line to receive all their toxic emissions - even though Brent already has some of the worst air pollution in London. Numerous research reports link living within a few miles of an incinerator with higher rates of foetal development issues, cancer, lung and heart disease and immune deficiency disorders. This residential neighbourhood is simply not built to handle the proposed increase in heavy-duty trucks coming into the area over 120 journeys EVERY DAY. This is non-compliant with Boris Johnsons London Plan. The company proposing this toxic plan is a property company located in an offshore tax haven. The (very unpublic) public consultation ended on 13 Nov and a decision is to be made on 19 Dec, so we have to ACT NOW. Time is running out to STOP THIS PLAN.
