Shook Students Health Services Title: Binge Drinking

Main Point: For college students: binge drinking could put you at risk for health problems

Liver disease. Alcohol poisoning. Sexual violence. Neurological damage. All of these health problems and more can be associated with binge drinking, and they happen to college students every day. According to the CDC, 51% of all binge drinkers are 18 to 20 years old, and about 90% of all alcohol consumed by those under 21 is from binge drinking. If you consume more than 4 to 5 drinks in 2 hours, then you are considered to be binge drinking, and you may be at risk. Next time you drink, think. Your life could depend on it.
