    9. All Pass Filter


    Aim: Apparatus: Theory: To Design and implement the Phase Shifter circuit to generate the phase shift. IC 741, Diodes, Resistors, Capacitors, CRO, Digital Trainer, Wires. All Pass Filter is used to transmit all components of frequency, but is used for providing desired phase-shift. As an example of application, it is used to correct the delay obtained in telephone lines as one can rectify with the appropriate delay canceller circuit (All pass Filter). The expression of output voltage is: 1-j2 f RC VO VIn 1+j2 f RC So at every extent of input output is equal and hence the name All Pass Filter. Desired phase shift can be obtained using the expression: = -2tan-1(RC) Where, = 2f Design:

    Procedure:

    1. For the given phase shift, find out the value of R and hence mend the circuit. 2. To obtain the opposite phase-shift interchange the components R and C. 3. Observe the output on CRO and find the practical phase shift.
