On December 08, 2012 Officers were dispatched to Hovey Meadow road for a report of a male threatening to commit suicide. The mother of the suspect was knocking on doors to residences in the neighborhood asking for assistance to have them call the police. Upon arrival the mother stated that her 34 year old son had a history of mental illness and violent tendencies. She also reported that there was a firearm in the house as well as several knives. The son did not live at the house and was staying over for the night. Officers from Salem and Hampstead arrived on scene to assist and Hovey Meadow Road was temporarily closed. Officers were able to make contact with the subject who eventually came out and was placed in handcuffs with out incident. The subject was transported to an area hospital after stating that he had previously consumed alcohol and had thoughts of harming himself. He was not charged with any criminal offense and the road was re-opened after Officers cleared. Nothing follows.
