A.GOALS To learn through active involvement with people,materials,events,a nd ideas. To become independent,responsible, and confident-ready for school and ready for life. To learn to plan many of their own activities,carry them out,and talk with others about what they have done and what they have learned. To gain knowledge and skills in important academic,social and physical areas.

B.OBJECTIVES C.PHILOSOPHY High Scope teaches children through hands on experienc es or active learning.T he childrens interest and choices lead them to create their own curriculu m, which is implemen ted by interactin g with each other and the materials in the classroom .

D.CONTENT/LESSON Children will learn to read, count, measure, weigh, bounce balls, sort objects, skip, hop, sing, rhyme, etc. All in the context of their natural sorroundings and daily activities.

E. PRINCIPLES Active participation of children in choosing,organizing, and evaluating learning activities,which are undertaken with careful teacher observation and guidance in a learning environment replete with a rich variety of materials located in various classroom learning centers. Regular daily planning by the teaching staff in accord with a developmentally based curriculum model and careful child observation. Developmentally sequenced goals and materials for children based in the high scopekey experiences.

F. TEACHERS ROLE A teacher is supposed to act as a facilitator. The teachers follow a daily routine
-circle time, small groups, music and movement, planning, work time, recall followed by a family style lunch, nap, play time. The teacher does maintain discipline and must make a lot of teacher made items, boards, etc, it is the child who learns through active play.

G. PUPILS ROLE Children make choices and decisions all the time.
