STAGES OF THE LESSON 1. WARMER: the teacher will check whether there are any absent pupils; the teacher will check whether all the pupils have done their homework exercise: write what makes your holiday ideal 2. PRE-SET PURPOSE: The teacher will check with the pupils their homework The teacher will write on the blackboard the following scheme

The pupils will orally say what makes their holiday an ideal one The teacher will complete the scheme The teacher will start a short dialogue with the pupils: Who are the most important people for you? (moher, father) Besides family whom do you have? (friends) Do you have friends?

PRESENTATION: the teacher will tell the pupils the title of the new lesson: My friend the teacher will write and underline the title on the blackboard and will ask the pupils what does it mean then the teacher will write on the blackboard the following scheme:

pupils will have to say how they would like their best friends to be the teacher will ask the pupils what kind of qualities these are: interior/ exterior, moral/ physical 4. CONTROLLED PRACTICE: The teacher will ask the pupils to look at exercise 1a/74 In pairs, theyll have to give numbers to each quality The most important will be given no 1, the least 3 Then orally and randomly pupils will say their choices

the teacher will ask the pupils to look at exercise 1b/74 theyll have to use the adjectives given in the book theyll have to describe their best friend in 3 sentences eg. He has brown eyes 5. LESS- CONTROLLED PRACTICE: The teacher will ask the pupils to work in groups of three Pupils will have to do exercise 4/ 75 One of them will have to look at the pictures in the textbook and choose one picture, without telling the others what he/she has chosen The others will have to ask questions, describing the person in the picture, until they guess the picture 6. FREE PRACTICE: Pupils will make exercise 5/ 75 In groups of 6 they will work Each pupil will be given a paper Each group will choose a leader On the papers they will write their favorite: subject, singer, pet, hobby, sport They will not write their name on the paper They will fold the paper The leader will mix the papers Each pupil will choose one paper They will read the papers They will try to guess which paper belongs to whom When they find out they write the name of the person the paper The leader will announce when they finish

As they are, in groups of 6 the pupils will be given another paper One paper to a group The paper will contain squares Each square will contain a word
