Short Story Competition

Do you have a story youre itching to share? Use your extreme imagination and enter this competition
Competition Information 1. The competition is open to young people aged 7 to 18. 2. There are three age categories: 7 to 10 years 11 to 14 years 15 to 18 years 3. Entrants are required to write a fictional, original story of no more than 250 words. 4. You must use one of the starting lines (found on next page). 5. Stories will be judged on the imaginative use of the starting lines, originality, plot and use of language 6. Entries must be received by Sunday 6th January 2013. 7. There will be a winner for each age category, decided by a panel of judges. 8. There are prizes to be won!
Winners will receive their prizes at the exetreme imagination festival launch event on Saturday 16th February 2013.

Choose one of these starting lines for your story: 1) It was a frosty winters morning when my radio suddenly crackled into life 2) On a very usual morning, eating breakfast and listening to the radio there was an unexpected 3) And here is todays news interrupted the broadcaster suddenly (Please write/type your story in the box below) TIPS Make sure your story has a clear beginning, middle and end. A short, interesting title draws the reader in. Maybe include a plot twist or dramatic ending to surprise or shock the reader. Describe your character(s), what they look like and their personalities. Dont have too many characters or an over-complicated plot the story is short and your reader needs to clearly understand
