We care about our students, our parents and our community

Dear Parents/Guardians; The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) has indicated that they will hold a one day strike at all schools in the UCDSB next week. This means that teachers will not be in school and many schools will have picket lines outside.

We strongly encourage parents to make alternate child care arrangements now. We recognize that this will be a significant inconvenience for parents and guardians.

We intend to keep our schools open for those who have no other options for child care. Please note that schools will not be operating a regular instructional program. Students will be supervised in common areas such as the gymnasium and/or library.

To ensure that we have the necessary resources in place to safely supervise students, we require parents to declare their intention for the day. You can provide us with this information in one of 4 ways. 1. Use the form below and return to the school tomorrow 2. Call the school directly and inform school administration 613-443-3024 3. Email the school administration mhairi.rowland@ucdsb.on.ca or kim.williams@ucdsb.on.ca We recognize that this is a challenging time for families, especially as the holidays approach. As always, the safety and well-being of our students is our first priority. Sincerely,

Mhairi Rowland
