O BOX NJOMBE Dear Sir/Madam REF: CONTRACT NO.AE/001/2009-10/HQ/C/88:CONSULTANCY SERVICVES FOR DETAILED ENGINEERING DESIGN, PRELIMINARY ENVIRONMENTAL & SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT, ECONOMIC EVALUATION AND PREPARATION OF TENDER DOCUMENTS FOR SUB: REQUESTING TRAFFIC POLICE TO MONITOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC COUNTS Kindly refer to the above mentioned subject matter. The Government of United Republic of Tanzania has engaged M/s KYONGDONG Co.LTD of KOREA in association with AMBICON ENGINEERING LTD of TANZANIA to carryout the consultancy services mentioned above. In the course of the assignment, the study team among other studies will be carrying out traffic survey counts and interviews to drivers to determine Origin and Destination of Passangers, estimated total number of vehicles using the road and axle load surveys These surveys will be done at two chosen junctions, which are Makambako (few metres from weighbridge) and Ilembula junction starting on Monday,17th October 2011. These surveys will be conducted in 24hours for seven (7) days. In the course of these, 3 number of traffic police are required (2 for Makambako junction and 1 for Ilembula Junction) to help the Engineers and technicians to carryout these activities smoothly.
