De la Seora:
First, thank you for blessing me with the cookies and fruit. My family was quite happy to receive them! We are looking forward to a fun week next week of all Christmas and winter themes. There will be no new spelling or sight words. We are going to instead read and practice using a new theme each day. We also will have special projects each day! Monday animals hibernating: kids wear pjs to celebrate winter sleep! Tuesday - families and our celebrations Wednesday Christmas lists and letters to the Three Kings Thursday Gingerbread and make gingerbread boys/girls Friday First day of winter and Christmas party When we come back in January well do a unit on polar bears and penguins before starting in to a new language arts unit the following week. Upcoming Events: Christmas party, 1:45 Christmas vacation begins Back to school

Bible: As we prepare for the Christmas


season, we are telling stories through the Jesse Tree, which traces the lineage of Jesus. We also are focusing on the story of his birth.

Bible Memory: Luke 2:8-11

* Finished Unit 4 and had test * Base 10 blocks

Language Arts:
Phonics Skill: b, n, v, and syllables Sight words: van, va, dentro, muy, bien, ayudar, ahora, usar, queda Language Concept: compound future tense, infinitive verbs Theme: Our themes these past two weeks were on pets and then on playing. Our main selections focused on the story of a girl and her pet duck and then a childs soccer team. We read lots of stories practicing our syllables of the week and then wrote sentences with our new words.
