A day for veterans


A ceremony complete with a three-volley salute capped off Chelseas Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 30. Veterans and residents gathered at Mount Olivet Cemetery at the end of Middle Street, where Pastor Jim Coyl of St. Paul United Church of Christ led a prayer and Sgt. Jeff Gunnis spoke about remembering the huge sacrifices service men and women and have made for Americans freedom.

Veterans graves were adorned with ags and owers. The grave pictured is that of Fred Koch, a World War I veteran.

Veterans led the Memorial Day Parade into Mount Olivet Cemetery.
