The Rape of Medusa in Delhi

The Rape of Medusa

Tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across India on Wednesday, calling on authorities to stem the rising tide of violent sexual attacks on women, after a 23-year-old medical student was raped and beaten by six men on a Delhi bus. The incident on Sunday night [16th December 2012] has convulsed India, sparking fierce criticism of the police, rows in parliament, blanket coverage in the media and even a debate on the role of revealing outfits worn by stars of Bollywood films.

Shown above is the solar eclipse of 21st May 2012 at Delhi. Its placement on the Ascendant makes it very significant for India. The Ascendant [26ta22] is conjunct the star Algol [26ta20]. Algol is the severed head of the raped woman Medusa. In a late version of the Medusa myth, related by the Roman poet Ovid (Metamorphoses 4.770), Medusa was originally a ravishingly beautiful maiden, "the jealous aspiration of many suitors," but when she was caught being raped by the "Lord of the Sea" Poseidon in Athena's temple, the enraged Athena transformed Medusa's beautiful hair to serpents and made her face so terrible to behold that the mere sight of it would turn onlookers to stone.wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medusa Medusa has, therefore, come to represent the violation of women and their consequent anger.

The eclipse at 0ge21 was prominent for another reason. It fell exactly on the Ascendant [0ge54] of Indias Independence chart [15 Aug 1950, 0:00 Delhi]. If our assessment is correct then the next question to answer is why did this incident happen on 16th December. Mundane astrology uses a simple technique of progressing the eclipse chart. The potential of the eclipse comes out with full force when the progressed angles once again touch the eclipse. Shown below is the progression [solar quotidian method] of the eclipse for 16th December. Notice that the progressed descendant is conjunct the eclipse on that date!! P.S. Readers who may be interested can explore a further confirmation by progressing Indias Independence solar return chart [precessed] to 16th December. No prizes for guessing where its progressed Ascendant was on 16th December ..at 0ge48 conjunct the eclipse!!
