Deathwatch Strike Force

The Deathwatch is the military wing of the Ordo Xenos, the Alienhunters. Its members are drawn from volunteers from the legions of the Adeptus Astartes, though similar doctrine between these chapters is essential as its members operate in small tactical units. Often trained in the Inquisitorial Fortress at Talas Prime they form a highly elite unit, specialising in countering the incursions of aliens that threaten the freedom and lives of Mankind. In order to fulfil such an arduous duty its members are

equipped with unique weaponry to neutralize the Xenos that would prey on mankind. Though they normally operate in small units on the edges of Imperial controlled space they have been known to gather in force when a full scale Xenos incursion is imminent. Under such dire circumstances the Deathwatch will take to battle in, for them, large numbers. Led by a Captain who is often a powerful psyker and supported by terminators they stand against the Xenos tide.

FORMATION RULES Purge the Xenos: The Deathwatch Marines are experts at striking the enemy where and when it will hurt the most. The 24 Deathwatch Marines may be split into 3 separately operating squadrons of 5 to 8 Marines each. No more than 2 Special Weapons may be allocated to each squad and one squad MUST be joined by the Commander. The Commander counts as an Independent Character, but may not leave his unit unless he is the last survivor. Each squad may use special bolter ammo: metal storm ammunition, inferno bolts or kraken bolts at +5 points per model. However an entire squad must use the same type. Like giants they stand against the storm: With foes so plentiful more than mere Marines will be needed to turn the tide of battle against the Alien. A Deathwatch Terminator squadron may be chosen as part of the Deathwatch Strike Force. 5-10 Terminators may be bought at the cost given in Codex: Space Marines, the squad has their normal codex options. However, each Terminator may select up to 20 points of wargear from any Space Marine codex armoury. This may only be done if a member of that Chapter is also present in the squad, this model MUST have the appropriate chapter shoulderpad. No counts as allowed, only real recruits with Chapter roots will give you this bonus!
