Faithful Fourth Graders

CAJ: Equipping students to impact the world for Christ


Language Arts: Spelling:
given on 1/15.

Starting this year, students will have 20 spelling words. This weeks spelling words are abbreviations of months, days, & places: Dec., Sat., Nov., Mon., Jan., Wed., Apr., Sun., Feb., Thurs., Oct., Aug., Tues., Fri., Mar., St., Blvd., Sept., Ave., and Rd.

Reading:
Many students completed the winter break reading incentive, and they will be getting a small prize from Miss Park.

Memory work: Psalm 135:13-15 Your name, O LORD, endures forever, your renown, O LORD, through all generations. For the LORD will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants. The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. Units: Our next unit is health science, and we will discuss what being healthy really means, and then we will learn about drugs.

Writing:
Students will begin exploring another writing trait: Word Choice. They will learn to use interesting and colorful words to add sparks to their writing.

Math:
This week students will practice (1)rounding and (2)doing mental math that involve extended multiplication/division facts. Examples: 200 40 = 60 x 30 = We will finish up Unit 5 and begin Unit 6: Division; Map Reference Frames; Measures of Angles.
