Meeting Minutes

January 10, 2005

Board members present: Tommy Taylor, David Steiner, Nicole (Nuss) McCoy, Rose Klein and
Kris Meek.

Kris Meek made a motion to raise the amount of payment for delivery of the newsletters from
$100 to $125. Seconded by Nicole McCoy. Approved

Tommy Taylor announced to the board that Dr. Thomas Haug donated $1,000 to the
Neighborhood Association in December. Dr. Haug is a long-time member of the Highlands
Neighborhood. Tommy said we need to update our non-profit status with the state. We need
to be incorporated, organized as 501C Charitable or Educational status for tax deductible
donations.

We discussed the Family Block Party(s). Tommy wants a neighbor-friendly opportunity for
everyone to get to know each other. We discussed the possibility of having a pool party some
weekend. Rose Klein suggested that kids would be admitted only if they are accompanied by
an adult so we don’t have only unsupervised kids at the pool party.

Elections: There are no changes in directors at this time. Jason Fortik is moving in May so we
will need to elect or appoint a new director at that time. David Steiner is now titled Webmaster
rather than director.

The planning commission approved the permit for 18 single family dwellings and
approximately 11,000 square ft. of office space on NW 1st and W Highland Blvd. Next it will
go to the city council for their decision.

The next meeting will be Monday, February 7th (the first Monday) at 7:30 p.m. at Fredstrom
School. (We are having the meeting on the first Monday because school is closed on Feb. 21
and people have plans for Feb. 14th.)
