HFM uses multidimensional processing, which provides a detailed analysis of data Data is organized into dimensions based on organizations analysis requirement. Those data points are organized into data cubes & each intersection in the cube represents specific data point Dimensions describe an organizations data usually groups of related members Members of dimensions are arranged in hierarchies

HFM contains 8 system defined dimensions and 4 custom dimensions. Members of each dimension are customized accordingly

Opening Applications y y In HFM, all data is processed within applications. An application is a related set of dimensions and dimension members that meet a set of analytical or reporting requirements Do not create applications with the same name even if they are on different HFM servers. Applications of the same name but from different Financial management application servers cannot coexist on one shared services server A workspace is a pre-defined list of related tasks or documents that are accessed frequently

Depending upon the tasks that they need to perform HFM, can set up users through security roles as Advanced or Basic. Users with Advanced security role can choose to work either in Advance mode or Basic mode, users without Advance mode can work only in Basic mode Advance mode provides access to browser view and project view. Browser view provides access to all tasks and documents in HFM for which the user has security privileges In Basic mode, users can work only with predefined workspaces

Managing Documents (pg: 55) We can work with workspaces, data grids, data entry forms, system reports, links, related content or custom documents. We can create public documents which can be shared with other users or private documents Using Point of view check boxes
