    County Executive Applauds Governors Progressive Agenda


    Governor Andrew Cuomo has offered New Yorkers a broad and ambitious agenda for 2013, said Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy. As the leader of Albany County, I am pleased that he recognizes that local governments are facing fiscal troubles. As I have said time and again since taking office, the burden of Medicaid, pension costs and mandates have forced the county to make some very difficult decisions. I will work with the Governor and my colleagues in government to maintain the countys good fiscal standing while changing the way Albany County does business. This new year gives us an opportunity to examine our operations and that is what I plan to do. ###
