TRAINING FOR SPEED, ACCURACY, STYLE, & ENDURANCE


DAY ONE: Starting with the puppy and Utility exercises, Ward will demonstrate how to use play training to achieve speed, body awareness and nally accuracy. These techniques will also be applied to Novice and Open exercises and will encompass fronts, nishes, backing up, and side passing. Skill development in each of the various exercises will be approached on a step-by-step, building block basis. Those with working spots will be expected to participate in numerous on-oor demonstrations and activities related to skill development in using these techniques. In addition to Zoom, Ward will use his 9 month old puppy, Dash, to demonstrate scent articles and other exercises. Dash will work a 15 article set of Canadian (i.e., wood, metal, leather) scent articles. DAY TWO: Individual working-spot participants will be allocated equal amounts of oor time and individual coaching to address specic problems related to particular exercises at any level of competition obedience. Day two will build on the techniques learned and demonstrated in day one and will be workshop oriented.
