The Paul Hartley Community Outreach

a long time supporter of the ASYMCA. Major
donors from Raytheon, TriWest, AFCEA, and
the Fletcher Family Foundation joined the
Hartley family in opening the New Youth and
Community Building.

From the Desk of Executive Director Paul Steffens:

We can only hope that in 2009 we can achieve the same successes in
expanding our help to military families that we reached in 2008. I give
credit to these successes to (1) a highly motivated and passionate staff,
(2) hundreds of outstanding volunteers, (3) an exceptional, and also
passionate, Board of Management and Civilian Advisory Committee, (4) an
extremely supportive Military Advisory Committee, and (5) the San Diego
community that recognizes the contributions made by our men and women
in uniform and their families. A highlight of 2008 was completing and
issuing our “Military Support Summary and Family Needs Assessment
Report. This report sets the foundation for enhancing our current programs
and identifies emerging family needs. We will work with other agencies
that support military families to develop programs to meet the emerging
needs. Visit our website and download the report from our home page.

Thanks to the generosity of the San Diego Community who, despite the
state of the economy, helped us meet our revenue goals for 2008. We are
so fortunate to have strong community support from individuals and
organizations. We will continue to work very hard to foster this support
and develop additional partnerships with other agencies to ensure quality
assistance to military families. We appreciate
the support we do receive and assure
everyone that we will also be diligent to
ensure that at least 89 cents of every dollar
we receive goes directly into our support
programs. For continued information on
our programs, please visit our webpage.
God bless our men and women in uniform and
their families.
