Yoga with Ian-Every Thursday 12:05 pm-1 pm


January 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st-Old Library Auditorium, room 221
Ian returns to lead his fellow yogis through downward dogs and sun salutations in the Old Library Auditorium, (next to Mackenzie hall). Ians classes combine Budokon techniques with classical Hatha to build smooth flowing classes that will leave you calm, centered and energized. Ian puts special emphasis on the breath with smooth, steady movement and focuses on the importance of pranayama in practice. Mats, blocks and straps provided.

Refuel At Noon: Getting unstuck using mindfulness


Mondays, January 7th, 14th and 28th. NO CLASS 1/21
Evidence shows that mindfulness is effective in reducing stress in various situations such as chronic worrying, fears of failure and dealing with frustration. We will make the time in a quiet, soothing place to observe thoughts and feelings in ways that enhance selfreflection and self-care. *Light meal provided. Combatting Stress Through Regular Exercise


Thursday, January 17th from 5-6 pm
Luke Patrick PHD, who specializes in Sports Psychology, will discuss principals of exercise adherence. He will update students on recent findings regarding the psychological benefits of exercise, and work with students to identify ways to increase motivation and overcome barriers to regular physical activity. *Light meal provided.

Finding Focus
Thursday, January 24th from 5-6 p.m.
This group is for those diagnosed with, or suspect they may have, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and would like to learn new strategies to increase concentration, retention and overall ability to focus at school. We will discuss in a group setting what research and your peers have found useful to succeed in school despite having ADD. Dr. Nicole Cirino, the psychiatrist at SHS, will also discuss medications and proper use in the treatment of ADD. *Light meal provided.
