    The protocol for non-formulary antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs is being changed. Generic paroxetine, fluoxetine, risperidone, and methylphenidate are now formulary drugs but remain restricted to a designated psychiatrist. Patients can obtain these medications by presenting a pink card signed by their psychiatrist along with a prescription. Other non-formulary psychiatric drugs will now be approved for up to three years instead of just one year.

    Attention all Psychiatric Consultants Medical Officers Pharmacists Nurses ______________________________ Re: Non-Formulary Psychiatric Drugs
    The protocol regulated non-formulary antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs are being recategorized. The generic drugs - paroxetine, fluoxetine, risperidone and methylphenidate - are no longer non-formulary items. They are formulary items which however remain restricted to a designated consultant i.e. psychiatrist. The patient can collect the mentioned medicinal products by presenting a pink card and a To whom it may concern form signed by the psychiatrist together with the prescription signed by a doctor.

    Other psychiatric non-formulary drugs will be approved for a maximum of three years instead of for one year only.
