Abstract
This work entitled ATTITUDES TOWARDS ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN STUDENTS OF THE FIRST CYCLE OF THE PROGRAM OF ENGLISH FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS AT THE LANGUAGE CENTER OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION ENRIQUE GUZMN Y VALLE AT THE GRADUATE SCHOOL, LA MOLINA, LIMA, 2012, had as the main hypothesis that Attitudes towards English language learning are significantly related to academic performance in the students of the First Cycle of the Program of English for Graduate Students at the Language Center of the National University of Education Enrique Guzman y Valle, Lima, 2012. It is a substantive research in its variety of descriptive research with a correlational design. Its population and sample was made up of 36 students who were studying English as a requirement to obtain the degree of Master in Educational Sciences. After the hypothesis testing, the alternative hypothesis was found to be true, confirming that attitudes towards English language learning are significantly related to academic performance in students of the sample with a significance level of 0,05.
