I congratulate Senator-elect Cecilia Tkaczyk on her win after this extended electoral process and I welcome her to the Senate Democratic Conference. The mandate for a Democratic Senate just got stronger as 33 Senators were elected on the Democratic line this past November. The progressive agenda that the people of New York have demanded must be realized. The Senate Democrats reaffirm our commitment to enacting this agenda including moving the economy forward, enacting real campaign finance reform, raising the minimum wage, standing up for women's health and equality and passing the Dream Act. ###
