Through its unique combination of cognitive and experiential offerings, the East-West Psychology department at CIIS seeks to ground academic excellence and the acquisition of professional skills in both the personal transformation of students and the cultivation of a spiritually informed scholarship. Join us for an evening of presentations by CIIS alumni on their dissertation research and work in India.

Rochelle Suri, East-West Psychology, PhD, MFT :: Rochelle holds a Ph.D in East West Psychology and an M.A degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from CIIS. She is also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in the state of California. Rochelle is dedicated towards integrating Western psychology and Eastern spirituality within the realms of her psychotherapy practice. She is in private practice working with individuals, couples, and children. She is interested in research in India, as well as collaborating with schools in and around Mumbai, and is also involved in the planning and development of several international conferences. Rochelle supervises and mentors novice psychologists who are keen on developing a Humanistic perspective to mental health. http://www.rochellesuri.com/ Sonera Jhaveri, East-West Psychology, PhD (c) Sonera Jhaveri is a doctoral student in the East-West Psychology program at CIIS. She has recently completed her MA in Integral Counseling Psychology at CIIS and is clinically trained to work with individuals and couples with depression, addiction, anger management, eating and anxiety disorders. She is especially interested in the integral co-extensiveness of the individual and the world and her research topic 'Unconscious Ecological Alienation and Its Impact on the Psychesoma' seeks to unravel subliminal effects of ecological destruction on the bodymind. Her research was undertaken in Mumbai.
