County Executive McCoy Reacts to the State Budget Address
Governor Andrew Cuomo has recognized the need for continued fiscal prudence as New York State continues to recover from the recession, said Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy. The Governor has presented a budget that continues the conversation. He has presented the Legislature with needed opportunities to bring relief to local governments like Albany County. I have consistently said that our county needs a strong partner in the Capitol. Medicaid relief continues this year. The Governor has announced a Tier 6 savings financing plan which will allow localities some relief now instead of years down the road. The Governor is also making a strong case for making investments in education. I will continue to be the voice of Albany County taxpayers as budget discussions progress. We need to work together to stay true to our mission of providing quality services while at the same time working together to put mandate relief in place that will benefit all levels of government. I will be spending as much time as necessary working with the Governor and State Legislators to make the case for our county in the months ahead. ### Mary Rozak Director of Communications Office of the Albany County Executive 112 State Street, Room 200 Albany, NY 12207 tel 518.447.7040 ext. 7218 fax 518.447.5589 mary.rozak@albanycounty.com www.albanycounty.com
