I Have a Dream speech Martin Luther King Jr., now a Baptist minister, made a wonderful speech to all people that taught about how everyone; black, white, any race, shall live free. Martin gave his glorious speech on August 28, 1963. He said: even after the emancipation proclamation was signed for black people to be free, still one hundred years later, black are not free. Black people got equal rights in the U.S. around the late 1960s. By then, Martin Luther King Jr. got assassinated on April 4, 1968 4, 1968

Martin Luther King Jr. Quotes Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear. In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus.
