Cold Harbor Elementary School, Hanover, VA Student Teaching th Cooperating Teacher: Amy Owen, 4 Grade January March 2013 Develop and implement engaging, effective lessons in all subject areas for a heterogeneous group of fourth grade students that include ESL students, students with ADHD, students with emotional disorders, and students who are below and above grade level performance. Work collaboratively with SPED, reading specialists, math specialists, ESL professional, and other grade level teachers to ensure students needs are met. Additional responsibilities include: creating and maintaining a positive and safe learning environment, planning for instruction, engaging and supporting in student learning, assessing student learning, and developing as a professional.

METHODS EXPERIENCE
Maude Trevette Elementary School, Henrico, VA Diagnosis & Remediation in Reading Tutor nd 2 grade Fall 2012 Diagnosed reading & spelling stages for a single student through: Letter Identification, Phonemic Segmentation, DSA Spelling Inventory, Qualitative Reading Inventory, Written Vocabulary, Writing Sample, and Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test. Developed and taught daily lessons that focused on: Word Work, Running Records, Writing, and New and Familiar Reads.

Kersey Creek Elementary School, Hanover, VA Book Talk Lesson st 1 Grade Spring 2012 Worked collaboratively with cooperating teacher to design and teach a lesson that incorporated SOL 1.11, The Statue of Liberty. Read a non-fiction text and required students to answer higher level thinking questions.

Kersey Creek Elementary School, Hanover, VA Science Lesson st 1 Grade Spring 2012 Designed and implemented an interactive science lesson incorporating SOL 1.4 Flowering vs. Non-Flowering Plants. Hands-on activities were integrated to foster student engagement and learning.

Kersey Creek Elementary School, Hanover, VA Math Lesson 1st Grade Spring 2012 Developed and implemented engaging, effective, mathematics lesson for SOL 1.7 coin st equivalencies for a group of 1 grade students with a wide range of abilities. Students were given the opportunity to work with real money to practice and reinforce coin equivalencies Kersey Creek Elementary School, Hanover, VA Virginia Studies Lesson th 4 Grade Spring 2012 Worked collaboratively with cooperating teacher to create and teach an effective lesson on SOL VS.7b Civil War & Post War Eras. Lesson was taught to a group of fourth grade students with varying abilities.

Collected meaningful data through usage of DSA Spelling Inventory to determine the spelling level of one first grade student. Designed and implemented follow up lesson to reinforce features that the student was using but confusing. A folder game was made, a blind sort was completed, and a small mini lesson on affricates was completed with the student as reinforced practice.

Dumbarton Elementary School, Henrico, VA Multicultural Lesson st 1 Grade Fall 2012 Developed and implemented an interactive multicultural lesson with a culturally and socioeconomically diverse first grade class.

RELATED EXPERIENCE
Interactive Bulletin Board th Designed and created an interactive, educational bulletin board for a 4 grade electricity unit. Mathematics Station st Created a telling time math game that was used during station time in a 1 grade classroom using Judy Clocks to correctly show the analog time that was shown as a digital time. IEP Case Study Reviewed an IEP for a Special Education class, and created additional activities to meet goals, additional supports or services not already given, and made additional accommodations and modifications for the student. Parent Programs Developed a Back to School Night program along with two additional Parent Programs in order to increase the Home-to-School relationship. One program consisted of how to have a better homework time, and the other was a methods workshop for parents to learn the numerous was to complete multiplication and division math problems.

Field Trip Planning Planned a mock field trip for a fourth grade class to the Museum of the Confederacy where students could collect meaningful data to correlate with classroom lessons. Planning included what SOLs were met, parking, lunch accommodations, price for students and chaperons, and speaking with the contact at the museum to obtain actual field trip information. Classroom Management Portfolio Researched numerous classroom management philosophies and created a portfolio that consisted of a person philosophy, classroom arrangement, classroom rules, and implementation of daily routines.
