Compact hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, papillomatosis

Acantholysis with periperinuclear vacuolization involving all layers of the epidermis except the basal layer

Hypergranulosis with large basophilic keratohyanine granules and intracytoplasmic amorphous eosinophilic bodies

Single asymptomatic papule or nodule in trunk, arms, neck; genital lesions may be multiple. Age: Elderly (median age 60), M>F

Benign epidermal tumor with a characteristic histologic picture of acantholytic hyperkeratosis. Compact hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, papillomatosis. Acantholysis with periperinuclear vacuolization involving all layers of the epidermis except the basal layer. Hypergranulosis with large basophilic keratohyanine granules and intracytoplasmic amorphous eosinophilic bodies.
