This document presents Doppler echocardiographic indices of diastolic function for two age groups: ages 21-49 and ages 50 and older. It lists the average and range of measurements for peak early (E) and late (A) ventricular inflow velocities, E/A ratios, deceleration time (DT), and isovolumic relaxation time (IVRT) for the left ventricle as well as similar measurements for the pulmonary veins, right ventricle, and superior vena cava. The measurements generally show higher peak A velocities and lower E/A ratios for the older age group compared to the younger group.
