    After 18 months of work, the U.S. 301 Task Force is ready to present its results to the public at a meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Reid Street Recreation Center. Drawing from businesses, government agencies and communities that have interests in the U.S. 301 corridor through Wilson, the task force has studied needs for economic development, infrastructure improvement, beautification, safety and housing, and building the community. The plan will address issues such as drainage, traffic, pedestrian safety, cleanliness, city transit, street lighting, business development, housing standards, zoning codes, community organizations, parks and recreation facilities, and crime prevention. The task force will take the plan to City Council May 15.
