* Conduct a survey to find out what businesses residents want to see along the corridor. * Identify potential investors willing to put money into the corridor. * Hire a full-time staff coordinator, who would spend half of his time working on U.S. 301 projects. * Consider expanding the corridor study area from the U.S. 264 Bypass interchange to the interchange with N.C. 42. The task force has focused on the segment of the corridor between Lipscomb Road and Black Creek Road. * Appoint a permanent member to the Wilson Planning and Zoning Board. Housing Subcommittee * Continue to expand homeownership opportunities through such things as building rent-to-own housing units and using city-owned lots for redevelopment. * Re-evaluate minimum housing standards and make sure the city's inspectors enforce timely repairs by landlords. * Create a tenant/landlord meditation program and provide landlord support for dealing with problem tenants. * Continue to educate tenants on fair housing laws. * Establish a housing task force to recommend improvements to the city's housing initiatives.

Aesthetics subcommittee * Practice tougher junk vehicle enforcement by the city. * Create a committee similar to the Wilson Appearance Commission, which would focus on U.S. 301 appearance issues solely. The new committee would review development plans and promote aesthetics awareness among residents. * Erecting a digital information sign is another of the committee's interests. The proposed site is the intersection of Martin Luther King Parkway and U.S. 301.
