Program Coordinator/Community Outreach Specialist Child and Adult Care Food Program- The Planning Council Washington DC Salary

y Range - $35,000-38,000 Annually


Will conduct community outreach efforts, education and recruitment activities that increase awareness of the CACFP in Spanish-speaking communities specifically and other communities in general in Washington DC, and will work directly with participating childcare providers to monitor participation and provide technical and nutrition training and education. Will establish collaborative relationships with other nutrition, government, and community-based organizations, as well as the media, to increase CACFP participation. Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Nutrition, Community Development, Human Services or related field; and two to four years related experience and/or training; Proficiency in Spanish (written and oral); knowledge of child nutrition; excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to plan and manage with little supervision. Demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals of diverse racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds and of varying abilities. Demonstrated computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite programs, for data management, word processing, and email, as well as web-based data management. Excellent oral and written communication skills that demonstrate a command of standard English and Spanish grammar, punctuation, spelling, and correspondence composition and format. To a large extent, this is a field-based position with frequent travel in Washington. Employee must have reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed), valid drivers license and DMV record, and proof of vehicle insurance.
