September 27, 2012 Dear Parent/Guardian: My name is ______________ and I am an intern in MSUs teacher preparation program working alongside

your childs teacher. Though I am interning at Walled Lake Central HS for the duration of the school year, I am still taking graduate courses through MSU per certification requirements. One of my assignments from MSU is to videotape a sample lesson that I am teaching so that my colleagues and I can watch it together and analyze my teaching practices. This videotape will not be shared with anyone but my professor and small groups of my colleagues at MSU. Once we have studied the lesson together, we will destroy the videotape. Videotape is an important tool for analyzing and improving teaching practice so that I can study my own teaching and find ways to improve it. If for some reason, you do not want your child to appear on a videotape, please let me know by indicating on the form below. If you wish to have your child not present in the videotape, I will arrange to have _______________ move your child out of the classroom on videotaping days and they will be given an alternate assignment.
