Software Engineering Positions

We have outstanding opportunities for talented Software Engineers, specifically for newly graduating students from Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering, with preference to students with Internship or co-op experiences. You will be working within a dynamic and creative software development team with responsibility for designing, implementing, and supporting security management software and appliances in a Java/Linux environment. Successful candidates will gain commercial software experience in developing enterprise level 24x7 high performance multi-tier applications for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). Reporting to the Development Manager, the Software Engineers will work in a team setting that includes Product Management, Engineering, QA, and Information Development.

Responsibilities
Develop and support new features in Trustwaves SIEM product application and appliance suites in an agile Java/Linux based development environment. Participate and contribute to the SIEMs architecture/design/implementation reviews. Development may cover one or more areas of SIEM, which includes Data Acquisition, Advance Threat Detection, Correlation Analysis and Security Data Warehousing. Working in a collaborative team environment with requirements to adhere to software coding standards, reviews and product release management. Interact with the QA team in testing and defect tracking/resolution to ensure quality targets are met with respect to the exit criteria. Interact with the information development team for the content, review and release of technical user documentation.

Education and Experience

Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination. Preference to individuals with co-op or internship work terms in one or more software development companies. Must have knowledge and development exposure with Java, Linux and shell scripting. Previous experience working with Relational Databases and Security Devices (e.g. Firewall, IPS, IDS, Security or Network Management Systems) will be an asset.
