Avagadros Number Procedure.

1.) Fill a 1000mL beaker with 900mL of water and add three drops of HCL and mix it. 2.) Fill an aluminum pan to completely full with this solution. 3.) Cover the surface with piston oil by using a glass stirring rod 4.) Weigh a 150mm test tube using an analytical balance 5.) Add 4 drops of oleic acid to the tube and reweigh the tube using the analytical balance 6.) Use a pipet to add 10 mL of petroleum ether to the oleic acid and mix 7.) Transfer 1 mL of solution from the test tube into a new test tube and add 9.0 mL of petroleum ether 8.) Transfer 1 mL from the 2nd tube into a 3rd tube and add 9 mL of petroleum ether to the 3rd tube 9.) Scrape the top of the water in the aluminum pan off with a ruler. 10.) Dust the surface of the water with lycopodium powder 11.) Place 0.1 mL of the solution from the 3rd tube onto the pan of water and wait 5 min 12.) Place two wooden blocks beside the pan of water and put a glass plate on top. 13.) Trace the outline of the film onto the glass using a wax marking pencil then transfer the outline from the glass to a piece of paper 14.) Cut out a 5x5 cm square piece of paper and weigh it, then cut out the trace of the film and weigh it.
