February 4, 2013 Gods Provision When God shows up, wherever He shows up, He always leaves amazingly good

things behind. He knows we are needy. He made us that way; and He has abundant overflow of everything we need. God created us to be needy so that He could take care of our needs. Everything God does provide is for us, in some way, but food is the most basic provision for our bodies. When God provides for us, He doesnt just do so sparingly and in small quantities no, God drenches and soaks He provides for us in huge, overwhelming ways! He provides more than enough. We always have leftovers to share with others around us. Our own (humanitys) provision is fallible and subject to failure. It is either just enough for our selves or it is not even enough and comes short of what we need. Gods Provision is inexhaustible. God intended and intends for us to use His Provision. He doesnt and He never intended for His Provision to be stored up to just sit idle for long. There is wisdom in storing up for seasons during which work cannot be done. Wisdom stores His Provision with the purpose of future use (Proverbs 6:8). If we cannot use nor have any intention of using what He has provided for us, there is someone, somewhere around us who can and will use the provision. We dont need anywhere near as much as we want. Contentment is not found in excess. Contentment is found in whatever we have already. If we cannot and will not use what we have been given already then we cannot expect God to give us more. Food is only one way God provides for us. Gods Provision of food gives us energy which enables us to grow and work. Without the provision of the sun (providing light), rain, and soil our food wouldnt grow and we would have no way to be healthy, receive energy or strength, which would ultimately cause us to lose the life God placed inside of us. Psalm 65:9-11 You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance.
All things living he doth feed, His full hand supplies their need; For his mercy shall endure, Ever faithful, ever sure - Treasury of David
