Program Goal: To increase availability of, funding for, access to, and provision
of assistive technology (AT) devices and assistive technology
services.
Objective 1 of 1: Reduce barriers associated with the cost of assistive technology devices and
services for individuals with disabilities.
Measure 1.1 of 1: The cumulative amount loaned per $1 million cumulative federal Alternative

Note: AFP grants are provided for 1 year only but data collection responsibilities continue in perpetuity.
Therefore, grantees do not file "annual reports" but do provide cumulative data into a database on an
ongoing basis.

Explanation.

Several AFPs still were not fully operational during FY 2005, meaning they were not providing loans or
began providing loans later in the reporting period. The loan volume will likely increase as all programs
become operational.
