The West Virginia Senate is launching a new multimedia download service to make it easier for Senators to stay connected with constituents and local media during the 2013 legislative session. The service will allow Senators to provide audio and video files with press releases for radio and television use, and will enable media outlets to request and receive interviews with Senators via download links. The goal is to help Senators remain engaged with their districts while working in Charleston during the session.

SENATE LAUNCHING MULTIMEDIA DOWNLOAD SERVICE
Charleston, WV Senate President Jeff Kessler (D-Marshall) announced today that the Senate is making it easier for Senators to reach their constituents during the 2013 Legislative Session. Senate President Kessler says he is pleased to announce the launch of the West Virginia Senate Multimedia Download Service. Staying in touch with our constituents and local media during the legislative session is paramount, says Kessler. This service will allow Senators the opportunity to remain engaged back home while working in Charleston. I am confident that the introduction of this service will positively impact the way we do business in the Senate. Throughout the 2013 Legislative Session, audio and video files will be included in Senate press releases for use in radio and television broadcasts. The files can be easily downloaded by clicking on the link and choosing save file. Also, radio and television outlets can request video and audio interviews with specific Senators. Senate staff will record the requested interview and send a download link to the audio/video file to the media outlet. The 81st Legislative Session begins February 13, 2013.
