... to join us for the second in our quarterly series of informal conversations with distinguished executives from Marylands nonprofit community. Our guest will be Greg Cantori, President and CEO of Maryland Nonprofits. Our conversation with Greg will take place will take place on February 6 from 8:30 until 10:00 am at the headquarters of the Howard County Conservatory in Woodbine, Maryland. Greg will share with us the insights lessons hes gained from two decades of experience in the Maryland nonprofit realm, as well as his thoughts on nonprofit leadership and on the future of our organizations in todays rapidly changing world. Greg, who joined Maryland Nonprofits in October 2012, can point to a remarkably diverse career. He began his career as a government cartographer at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, where he supported U.S. forces during operations in Kuwait and Iraq, In 1993 he joined the nonprofit sector as Executive Director of Light Street Housing Corporation, where he implemented a comprehensive vision of homelessness to homeownership. In 1999, Greg joined the Marion I. & Henry J. Knott Foundation as Executive Director. For 12 years, he led the operations of the Knott Foundation operations, which distributes annual grants totaling about $2.5 million in the areas of human services, education, Catholic activities, healthcare and the arts and humanities. Greg has also served as an advisor to many nonprofits, including the Bearman Foundation, and as a board member of the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers.
