Method of undetermined coefficients. 9 hrs Unit II Method of variation of parameters. Solution of Cauchys homogeneous linear equation and Legendres linear equation. Initial value problems. 9 hrs Unit III Vector Calculus - I

Vector differentiation velocity and acceleration. Scalar and vector point functions Gradient, Divergence, Curl, Laplacian. Solenoidal and Irrotational vectors. Vector identities. 8 hrs PART B Unit IV Vector Calculus II

Vector Integration Vector line integral. Greens theorem, Stokes theorem, Gauss divergence theorem (All theorems without proof). Simple problems. Orthogonal Curvilinear Co-ordinates. 9 hrs Unit V Laplace Transforms

Laplace transform of standard functions. Standard properties Periodic functions Unit step function Unit impulse function. 8 hrs

Unit VI Inverse Laplace transforms, Convolution theorem, Application of Laplace transforms to differential equations. Applications to engineering problems. 9 hrs Text / Reference Book 1.
