Unit of Inquiry

WHO WE ARE Central idea: A nation is made up of many unique individuals, cultures and communities. We have two weeks left for this unit and we are looking forward to celebrate our greater understanding of our central idea. Students have been learning about people, culture, things and symbols of Singapore in an activity analogy of a Singapore Soup. From this activity, we are learning that the different ingredients to our Singapore Soup make it delicious. This week, we are going to look at attitudes that create a harmonious community, integrating the PYP Learner Prole attributes and attitudes in our discussions. Please add on to our class learnings by talking to your child about what makes Singapore a successful country with a good mix of people, cultures, things and symbols.

Our writing genre for this unit is Explanation Reports. With this focus, we are learning to gather information and details to explain a chosen topic. We are also learning about the convention of writing in the 3rd person.

We just nished an assessment on addition and subtraction. We are now ofcially moving on to multiplication. Please continue practicing addition and subtraction with regrouping. !
