WORKSHOP ON MATLAB

Department of Electrical Engineering of B.H GARDI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, Rajkot Organized a three days workshop on MATLAB NAD SIMULINK conducted by STWABERRY GROUP on 3rd, 4th and 5th august 2012 for the student of B.E 5th sem and 7th sem electrical engineering . This workshop was organized keeping in view, importance of simulation for better and deep understanding of subject matter, to have a support for solving industrial defined project and enhance the skill required to produce industry ready engineer. Matlab is a powerful tool to simulate real technological problem using its user friendly language, Simulink a block based tool and different tool boxes covering power station, electronics, instrumentation, image processing, control system etc. A simulation allows creation, modification, debugging and analysis of system in required time frame without having any fear of loss of or failure or damage to system. Matlab can also interface with various hardware and different database system. It is the most famous tool among researcher, engineers and academicians. Around 70% of research paper published in reputed journals used Matlab to simulate the system. Day -1 of workshop started with understanding of different function related to arrays and matrices. Day -2 covered user interface, graphical user interface. Student created their own calculator using matlab. Day -3 concentrated with different model of simulink and simpower system tool box .The model created by students includes different power electronics circuit, hybrid electric car, solar tracking system etc. Workshop was conducted in computer lab of department .This made students to learn and then immediately to implement their learning. Students were trained by Mr. Archit Somani from Stwaberry group, Ahemdabad.
